By train from Manhattan:

From 34th Street Penn Station, take New Jersey Transit's Midtown Direct train on the Montclair-Boonton line (click here for schedule). (Weekdays only.)
From the Bay Street station, you can take NJ transit bus # 29 which travels along Bloomfield Avenue through Montclair Center. Click here for a bus schedule. Or call New Jersey Transit at (800) 772-2222. Walnut Street station is located near shopping districts on Walnut Street and Grove Street. Watchung Station is located in Watchung plaza, near shopping and restaurants. Mountain Avenue station is near the Presby Iris Gardens and Reservation. Montclair Heights Station and Montclair State University Stations service Montclair State University.

Note: There is no NJ Transit train Service to Montclair on weekends.

 

By bus from Manhattan:

DeCamp Bus #33 or 66-R from the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The #33 bus travels through Bloomfield, then west on Bloomfield Avenue through Montclair Center. The #66-R bus travels through Upper Montclair/Montclair with stops at Montclair State University, Bellevue Plaza, Watchung Plaza, and Montclair Center (Bloomfield and Park). From The North:
•    Garden State Parkway Southbound To Exit 151
        (Watchung Avenue- Montclair/Nutley)
•    Make right turn onto Watchung Avenue
•    Follow Watchung Avenue for 1.5 miles to Park Street - turn left
•    Follow Park Street for 1.5 miles to Bloomfield Avenue

 

 

From The South:
•    Garden State Parkway Northbound To Exit 148
        (Bloomfield Avenue- Bloomfield/Montclair)
•    Follow exit ramp to traffic light
•    Proceed straight through traffic light. Stay in left lane and follow “u-turn”
•    Proceed to first traffic light and make right turn onto Bloomfield Avenue
•    Follow Bloomfield Avenue for 2 miles to Montclair Center

From The West:
•    Follow I-280 East to Exit 8B (Prospect Avenue/CR 577N)
        towards Cedar Grove
•    Follow Prospect Avenue for 2.5 miles to Bloomfield Avenue

George Washington Bridge
•    Proceed across GW Bridge and follow signs for 80/95/NJ Turnpike
•    After 2.5 miles, follow Exit 69 for I-80 West towards Paterson
